Above all, we believe that Little Adorables Childcare Center is the most wonderful place to be a child and endeavors to provide that environment on a daily basis

Little Adorables Childcare Center is committed to promoting active parent participation in the center. Parents are encouraged to visit the center and are welcome at anytime. Extensive communication with parents about their child’s room, and the center is an important part of the program.

CURRICULUM

Little Adorables approach to child care arises from three fundamental concepts.

1. Respect for each child as an individual.
2. Respect for parents’ needs and concerns
3. Respect for staff as professionals and as individuals.

The children enrolled at Little Adorables participate in a developmentally appropriate individualized curriculum. Teachers understand the variety of learning styles and paces in children’s normal development. Their job is to respond to each child’s own style and pace and help them prepare for the future.
Much of the teachers planning revolves around the needs of the children –individually
And as a group. Each day there is both indoor and outdoor activity, small group and independent projects, and active and quiet play.

At Little Adorables, we understand that children are active learners. There is no clear separation between learning and caring, play and work. Our program is committed to promoting all aspects of development, including:

· Motor Development - using large muscles for skills such as throwing and running as well as small muscles for activities such as stacking and writing.

· Intellectual/Perceptual development – for example, learning to look deliberately, thinking about what one sees, and distinguishing parts of a whole scene.

· Social/Emotional Development - how to be a constructive member of a group as well as an individual, recognizing and understanding feelings, how to act on or cope with emotions.

Language development – using words to express and understand needs, feelings and ideas. Reading and pre-reading skills as well as appreciation of books and other written language

Our overall goals are:
1. Allow each child to develop his or her own unique talents
2. Develop a foundation that promotes success in school. This includes problem solving, a high self-esteem and a love of learning.
3. Provide an environment that is free of racial or gender bias or stereotypes.

The center promotes an anti-bias, multicultural curriculum. This curriculum will incorporate the Christian religion and will seek to enhance pride in the cultural heritage and self esteem of each member of the center’s community children, parents and staff.
